Linklaters announces partner, counsel promotions

Linklaters has promoted counsel Begoña Martínez to partner, and managing associates Ceyhun Pehlivan and Luis Valdenebro to counsel

These appointments are in the context of Linklaters’ new global election of partners and counsel, in which 41 new partners and 53 new counsel have been appointed this year. Forty per cent of the new partners are women, exceeding the firm’s annual target.

The promotions will come into effect on 1 May 2023.

Begoña Martínez has been involved in a wide range of domestic and cross-border Financing transactions, including acquisition, Corporate, Real Estate, Project and Structured Financings, as well as refinancing and restructuring transactions, among others. In addition, she also has experience advising clients on Capital Markets, Securitisations, Private Equity and M&A transactions.

Ceyhun Pehlivan specialises in Data Protection, Cybersecurity, Information Technology and Intellectual Property. He has extensive experience advising national and international clients on matters related to new technologies (digital platforms, AdTech, Big Data, blockchain or artificial intelligence), data protection (GDPR compliance, audits, and defence in proceedings before data protection authorities), M&A with technology components, as well as service contracts, licensing, software, outsourcing and cloud computing.

Luis Valdenebro has extensive experience in Insolvency and Restructuring proceedings advising large companies, national and international financial institutions and investment funds. He also has extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation in various sectors and at all judicial levels, as well as in all types of foreclosure proceedings (especially complex foreclosures of singular assets).
