IEL’s Women Leaders elects four Spanish partners on 2022 survey

IEL (International Employment Lawyer) 2022 Women Leaders thought-leadership survey has elected four lawyers from Spain: Silvia Bauzá from Allen & Overy, Pilar Menor from DLA Piper, Lara Vivas from Cuatrecasas and Rosa Zarza from Garrigues

IEL’s Women Leaders thought-leadership survey is an extensive who’s who list of established law firm partners from around the globe discussing key developments, challenges, and innovations within trending areas of practice.

Silvia Bauzá is the partner head of allen & Overy´s Employment practice in Spain. She has broad experience in all areas of Employment Law. Throughout her career she has advised on significant corporate restructurings for Spanish and international companies, and has particular expertise in collective negotiation. Silvia has acted in a large number of collective dismissals, having advised on the first to be carried out by a public entity in Spain. She is also an expert in labour litigation, specialising in complex, collective and individual judicial processes.

Pilar Menor is DLA Piper Global co-chair of the Employment group at DLA Piper and senior partner of the Madrid office. Between 2012 and 2020 she held the position of managing partner of the firm. From 2006 to 2022, she was the head of Employment group in Madrid. She has extensive experience in dealing with all aspects of Employment and Social Security law including business restructuring operations, employment litigation, collective negotiations and negotiation of senior management agreements.

Lara Vivas, partner at Cuatrecasas, is a specialist in Labour Law, particularly in regulatory compliance and in restructuring, with extensive international experience, advising national and multinational companies on legal matters from a legal and economical analysis perspective, and advising on sustainability policies. Lara has handled collective bargaining processes, including mediation in collective disputes and strikes. She has participated in restructuring processes under Spanish and European Law and represented clients in proceedings in first- and second-instance courts in Spain. She regularly participates in crossborder commercial transactions.

Rosa Zarza is the partner in charge of the Labor and Employment Law department of Garrigues, where she has pursued her professional career since 1990. She is an expert in employment and social security law, principally in strategic matters in the labor law and human resources areas.  She also heads up Garrigues Sustainable, having led the ESG Committee since 2021. Her fields of expertise include advice on employment issues to national and multinational companies operating across a range of industries (technology, manufacturing, finance and energy, to name but a few) and defending their interests in proceedings before the labor courts.
