Uría Menéndez Criminal senior joins Hogan Lovells

Hogan Lovells has hired Sara Sanz Castillo, an expert in Criminal Law and internal investigations, as a senior associate, joining from Uría Menéndez, where she was a Criminal, Litigation and Arbitration senior associate

Sara Sanz Castillo joined Uría Menéndez in 2013 and she was until now a senior associate of the firm since 2021. In 2019, she was seconded to the Amsterdam office of De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek (Regulatory Enforcement team).

Sara has over 7 years of experience advising companies, as well as their directors and employees, in Criminal proceedings dealing with a wide range of Criminal offences (tax fraud, corporate criminal offences, offences against the environment and offences against workers’ rights, among others).

In addition, she has experience advising companies in the development and implementation of compliance programs, as well as in the conducting of internal investigations (both with a domestic scope and multi-jurisdictional).

She holds a double degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICAI-ICADE, and holds an official certificate on economic crime (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid). Sara is an associate lecturer in the Law and Business degree program of Universidad CEU San Pablo, where she lectures on Criminal Litigation.
