Uber appoints head of Legal for Iberia & Croatia

Emilio Puig Ruiz, until now lead counsel for Spain & Croatia at Uber, has been appointed head of Legal for Iberia & Croatia

Emilio Puig joined Uber in 2018 as lead counsel for Spain, responsible for legal and regulatory affairs in Spain for all the business lines of the company (Rides, Eats and New Modalities). In 2020, he became responsible for legal and regulatory affairs in Spain and Croatia for all the business lines of the company, aposition from which he has now been appointed to lead the company´s Legal team in Spain, Portugal and Croatia as head of Legal.

Before joining Uber, Emilio worked at Telefónica, where he held the position of Legal manager for LatAm to later become Global Resources Legal Manager, providing Legal advice to Global Resources General Counsel Office (direct report to the GC), Global Networks & Operations, Global Procurement, HR, LOTCA (Telefónica’s private aircraft fleet) and Global Customer Relationship Management.

He holds a Law degree from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, a Master´s degree in Telecommunications and IT Law from the same institution and an LLM from University of California Los Angeles School of Law. He has taught in the Master’s degree in Telecommunications, IT, Data Protection, Media and E-Commerce Law at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
