Toda & Nel-lo appoints three counsel

Toda & Nel-lo has hired Teresa Olivié (a specialist in Compliance) as of counsel, joining from Naturgy, where she was CCO, and promoted senior lawyers Mireia de Pol (Tax) and Berta Casas (Compliance) to counsel

Toda & Nel-lo has announced the appointment of three new counsels. On the one hand, lawyer Teresa Olivié joins as of counsel to promote the Compliance area of the Madrid office. On the other hand, Mireia de Pol and Berta Casas, senior lawyers in the Tax and Compliance teams, respectively, have been promoted to counsel. Mireia de Pol will continue to develop the Tax Litigation practice (her main area of expertise) and Berta Casas will head the Sustainability area, a practice that the firm intends to strengthen in the coming years. 

Teresa Olivié specialises in corporate compliance and regulated sectors. She is a Law graduate from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE), and has extensive experience as a Compliance Officer and head of legal in several companies. She began her career at the Spanish Electricity Industry Association (AELEC) as a legal advisor, was responsible for legal regulation at Unión Fenosa, and later joined Naturgy as Chief Compliance Officer.

Mireia de Pol joined Toda & Nel-lo in 2012 from Crowe. Specialised in Tax Litigation, she holds a degree in Law from the Pompeu Fabra University and a degree in Business Administration and Management from the Universidad de Barcelona. She was a tax sub-inspector candidate and is currently the coordinator of the Tax Procedure group of the Catalan delegation of the Spanish Association of Tax Advisors (AEDAF) and a member of the Group of Experts in Taxpayers’ Rights and Guarantees and Tax Practice of the AEDAF.

Berta Casas, at Toda & Nel-lo since 2014, specialises in Compliance, Criminal Prevention for companies and Corporate Governance. With a degree in Law from the Universidad de Barcelona, she has extensive experience as an in-house legal advisor in several multinational companies, as she was head of Fluidra’s legal department for more than 11 years and, previously, she was a lawyer for the multinational gaming and leisure company Cirsa.
