Spain Legal Expo was presented to the legal community on 1 March 2022, with relevant personalities within the sector such as Victoria Ortega, president of the General Council of Spanish Lawyers. The event also counted on the attendance of the dean of the Madrid Bar Association, José María Alonso, who stressed that “the legal profession is a key player in the economic world.” He based his statement on the fact that “the large law firms are companies that in Madrid have a combined turnover of €2,000 million per year.”
Since its creation, Spain Legal Expo has had the support of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, which hosted the aforementioned presentation ceremony. Its president, Ángel Asensio, expressed the importance that the event will have for the business fabric as a whole and for the legal profession in particular: “This fair is an excellent initiative to become more visible, develop networking and connect with potential clients or with other law firms with which to generate synergies.”
This is the first fair specialising in the legal sector in Spain, which will be held at the IFEMA exhibition centre in Madrid on June 15 and 16. It is an innovative event that will bring dynamism to a sector that has long been asking for a real space where it can generate interaction and develop links and business strategies.
According to the organisation, the expectation surrounding Spain Legal Expo is such that more than 40 professional law firms and more than 20 LegalTech companies and digital services for the legal sector have already confirmed their attendance.
In addition to the companies, the main institutions and organisations in the legal sector will also be present at IFEMA on June 15 and 16: the General Council of Spanish Lawyers; Mutualidad de la Abogacía Española, which will be a gold sponsor; and the General Council of Procurators.
The main associations of the legal sector will be part of the Spain Legal Expo, such as the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM), the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB), the Spanish Association of Property Registrars, and the General Council of Notaries Public; as well as associations representing the different areas of the legal profession, such as the Spanish Association of Compliance (ASCOM), the Association of Compliance Professionals (CUMPLEN) and the General Insurance Council.
Also present at Spain Legal Expo will be public institutions and public law corporations such as the Department of Justice of the Community of Madrid, the Madrid City Council, the Madrid Chamber of Commerce and the National Patent and Trademark Office; the employers’ organisation Madrid-CEOE Business Confederation (CEIM); and organisations such as Madrid Foro Empresarial (Madrid Business Forum).
The already confirmed presence of companies and institutions predicts, even with more than a month and a half to go, a great success for the attendees at Spain Legal Expo, which will be held at IFEMA on 15 and 16 June 2022.
