Seville Bar Association welcomes new Dean and Board

Elections were held yesterday at the Seville Bar Association (ICAS), in which the eighteen members of the Governing Board were elected for the next four years

Two complete candidacies were presented to these elections, headed by the candidates for Dean Rosalía Pascua Ponce and Óscar Fernández León, and three individual candidacies with Daniel Sánchez Bernal, Carlos Palomar Díaz and Jessel Adrián Contreras Díaz.

Each joint list included a further seventeen candidates for the posts of deputy, treasurer, librarian, and secretary.

The list headed by Óscar Fernández León obtained more than 70% of the votes cast and is made up of the following:  Vice-Dean, José Manuel Sánchez Carrillo; 2nd representative, Juan Piñeyro Pueyo; 3rd representative Eva María Luna Macías; 4th representative, Jorge Carlos Aguado de los Reyes; 5th representative, María Jesús Gimeno Puche; 6th representative, Blanca Rodríguez-Piñero Durán; 7th representative, Juan Calle Martín; 8th representative, Mª del Mar Hermano Rivera; 9th representative, Manuel Aguilar Romero; 10th representative, Ana Carrasco Martínez; 11th representative, Mª José Casero Garfia; 12th representative, Alberto Pérez-Miranda Castillo; 13th representative, Estefanía Portillo Cabrera; 14th representative, Luis Aparicio Díaz; Treasurer, Déborah Delmás Lirola; Librarian, Martina Mastrantoni and Secretary Eloísa María Pérez Andrés.

In these elections, 20.43% of the total practising lawyers voted, and 1,301 of the 6,367 practising lawyers. In the census of non-practising members, 4.78% voted, i.e. 71 of the 1,372 non-practising members. The elections took place normally, in an atmosphere of cordiality among the candidates and good fellowship among the many members who came to vote.
