Sareb appoints two renowned partners to its Board

Sareb's Board of Directors has proposed to the company's Shareholders' Meeting the appointments of Joaquín de Fuentes Bardají as a proprietary director, and Cristina Vidal Otero as an independent director

-

The incorporation of both of them comes as a result of the replacement of Eduardo Aguilar Fernández, whose five-year term has expired, and of Idoya Arteagabeitia, who has resigned for personal reasons.

With these appointments, approved by Sareb’s Shareholders’ Meeting, the highest decision-making body will add profiles with extensive experience and technical knowledge in both the public and private sectors. The Board of Directors will maintain the current number of members at nine. In addition to the chairman, Javier Torres, and the CEO, Leopoldo Puig, there are currently four proprietary directors and three independent directors.

Joaquín de Fuentes Bardají is a State Attorney and has developed his professional career in areas related to the State’s legal relations with the different public, territorial or institutional administrations, as well as with public business entities, companies, foundations and regulatory bodies. He has also been Secretary General of RENFE and head of legal and regulatory affairs at Telefónica. From 2004 to 2012 he was State Attorney General and was an ex officio member of the Council of State. He is currently head of the Public Law department at Escalona & De Fuentes.

Cristina Vidal Otero is also a State Attorney and has extensive experience in Corporate Governance, Regulatory Compliance, listed companies and regulated entities. She currently manages the Financial Regulation area of Ramón y Cajal Abogados. Throughout her career she has taught at various public and private universities.
