Santiago Mediano Abogados has incorporated as new partners José Luis Peñaranda and Carlos Aguirre de Cárcer, both from Clave Abogados, to strengthen and promote Administrative and Litigation areas.

José Luis Peñaranda is an expert in Public Law and a lawyer in the Spanish Parliament.  With a degree in Law, with an extraordinary award, from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, José Luis has more than 30 years of experience in Administrative Law, specialising in Litigation and Administrative proceedings.

Closely linked to teaching and research, Peñaranda has been a lecturer in Administrative Law for years at ICADE and at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, where he continues to teach as a lecturer on the Master’s degree in Access to the Legal Profession. He has also participated in research projects on Urban Planning, territorial cohesion, and the environment and is the author of numerous publications in books and scientific journals.

The incorporation of José Luis Peñaranda aims to strengthen and promote the Public and Administrative Law area, led by José Ignacio Juárez, one of the areas considered strategic by the firm.

Carlos Aguirre de Cárcer, a Law graduate from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, is an expert in Criminal Law, a practice in which he has developed his entire professional career and in which he has extensive experience in all judicial instances. Carlos joins the firm’s Litigation department to promote the Criminal Law area.

Santiago Mediano, president of Santiago Mediano Abogados, said: “In the firm, we continue to invest in incorporating excellent professionals in strategic areas that are increasingly in demand by our clients. With José Luis Peñaranda and Carlos Aguirre de Cárcer, we add two highly recognised lawyers, with whom we have worked closely in recent years, which will allow us to continue providing our clients with the best specialised and comprehensive legal advice.”
