RSM nabs Andersen Criminal & Compliance head

RSM Spain has hired María Jesús Hernández Elvira as partner and head Economic Criminal and Compliance area at national level. joining from Andersen, where she headed the same department

An expert in Economic Criminal Law and Corporate Compliance programmes for large companies, and accompanied by a team highly specialised in matters of great financial and economic complexity, María Jesús takes on the challenge of promoting and consolidating this speciality at RSM, with her sights set on digital issues and decentralised financial assets: “The digital world, which is a strategic sector for the firm, fully affects the criminal area, as online crimes are on the rise and generate a certain procedural complexity. Specialisation, dedication and excellence are the means we have to make a difference in this area”.

María Jesús holds a Law degree and is a judge on leave of absence. After her time in the Judiciary between 1999 and 2013, she has worked in firms such as ONTIER or RCD, and in 2015 she was a founding partner of CHR Legal, a multidisciplinary firm integrated in Andersen in 2021, where María Jesús headed the Criminal and Compliance area at national level to date.

For RSM, all services related to Regulatory Compliance, which are aimed at protecting and improving the brand value and efficiency of companies’ business processes, will become increasingly important. “We are delighted to incorporate a professional team of recognised prestige, led by María Jesús, who joins RSM with the challenge of consolidating our service offering in this area, which will also complement the other areas, and especially the digital business area,” said its vice-president David García.
