RocaJunyent has promoted two new partners to strengthen the firm’s Tax and Real Estate departments. The decision reinforces the firm’s commitment to internal talent. It also represents an important reinforcement for two very important and growing areas for the firm.
Pilar Vacas has more than 10 years’ experience in general Tax planning and transfer pricing. She has extensive knowledge about Tx advice to companies in the field of taxation of direct, indirect and local taxes, and in relation to the tax administration and tax inspections. She has published many articles in specialized journals, as well as collaborating in various publications. She has also been invited on numerous occasions to take part in various tax seminars and courses.
Prior to joining RocaJunyent, Pilar was the team director of the Tax department of Baker McKenzie, where she was a member of the team that won the best transfer pricing firm award in Spain, granted by the International Tax Review ©, in 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2017. Pilar was also a professor at the Distance University of Madrid (“UDIMA”), the Center for Financial Studies (CEF) and the College of Economists.
Pilar was part of the firm´s team that advised Prada on its acquisition of its flagship in the golden mile of Madrid.
Esther Boix, the new Real Estate partner, has extensive experience in the private and public sector. She regularly advises clients on setting up cultural centers and commercial establishments of major restaurants and hotel chains. She also advises companies and private individuals on the process of developing and constructing buildings while analyzing the associated urban planning status and situation, drawing up all types of contracts, deeds and urban planning reports. She provides advice on the acquisition and sale of large portfolios of property assets by branches of credit institutions, family offices and other operators.
She was part of the team that advised Mimeisa Asset Management on its hosting of a Volvo flagship store at its Paseo de Gracia premises, the sale of a 150,000 m2 plot to Grupo Los Menceyes and the sale of a residential buiding to Patrizia in Barcelona´s @22.
With the promotion of these two partners, RocaJunyent now has 40 partners, 10 of whom are women, and continues to work to support the careers of the firm’s female professionals. In this sense, the firm’s Board of Directors has 7 members, 3 of whom are women.
