RocaJunyent advises Medsir on its 49% sale to Oncoclínicas  

RocaJunyent and Athenea Healthcare Group have jointly advised MEDSIR and its partners to sell its 49% for a fixed price of €5.75 million and an additional variable price of €3.5 million to Oncoclínicas

Athenea Healthcare Group, a consultancy firm specialising in the healthcare sector, has led the comprehensive advice to Medsir in the transaction, with the collaboration of the law firm RocaJunyent, which has coordinated the Legal advice.

Jochi Jiménez, partner of Athenea Healthcare Group highlighted that: “We are very proud that we have been able to successfully complete a transaction that we have been working on for many months and that means the consolidation of Medsir’s expansion worldwide and the first expansion operation of Oncoclinicas in Europe. This alliance was created to improve research in the fight against cancer”.

The agreement by which Oncoclínicas acquires 49% of Medsir for a fixed price of €5.75 million and an additional variable price of €3.5 million, which will be accrued according to the fulfillment of certain business objectives, was announced to the Brazilian stock market on Monday 21 March. The transaction involves the direct investment of €2.75 million in MEDSIR’s capital to reinforce its international expansion both in Europe and in the US, where it was already present.

With this alliance, Medsir also manages to enter the Latin American market and especially the Brazilian market, which is the largest oncology market in Latin America.

RocaJunyent advised with a Barcelona office Commercial/M&A team led by partner, coordinator of the International Area and director of the firm´s Latam Desk Santi Pagès, along with senior associate Lourdes Amigó.
