RJ advises Lightyear on its establishment in Spain

RocaJunyent has advised Lightyear, a brand-new broker dealer that manages a stock trading app with no account nor trading fees, on its establishment in Spain

-

Lightyear is a brand-new broker dealer that manages a stock trading app with no account nor trading fees.

This matter has been particularly complex since Lightyear is strictly an online broker with no establishment in Spain. Additionally, the added value of our counsel is based on the need to analyze the different legal requirements from a regulatory financial, AML, data protection and tax standpoint.

Lightyear will launch its app in 19 additional European countries, including France and Germany, expanding its presence in the euro area.

RocaJunyent provided legal advice to Lightyear regarding the analysis of the legal regime applicable to its operations in Spain. The advice was led by Data Protection and Privacy partner Beatriz Rodríguez Gómez, Tax partner Blanca Usón Vegas, and Banking & Finance partner Xavier Foz.
