The Big Four´s Legal department has closed the hiring of the State Attorney Pablo Dorronsoro, until now partner in charge of the Public Law, Energy and Infrastructure department of Pinsent Masons, according to El Confidencial. With this addition, the firm led by Ramón Palacín strengthens its Public team with a new partner, an area in which last October saw the departure of Félix Plasencia, who left for Cuatrecasas.

Pablo is a Law graduate from Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICADE, and joined the State Attorney’s Office in 2002. During his time there, he worked at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National High Court, as well as in the central courts for Contentious-Administrative Matters. In 2009, he made the leap to the private sector, joining CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo as a partner, where he remained for four years, when he joined Baker McKenzie. In 2018, a year after the opening of Pinsent Masons in Spain, he joined the project led by Diego Lozano. Along with his professional practice in law firms, Dorronsoro teaches at ICADE.

Throughout his career he has advised numerous national and international companies in matters related to the development of photovoltaic plants, contracts with the Public Administration or litigation, among other matters. His recent activity includes advising BayWa on the acquisition from Quercus Real Assets of a 700 MW portfolio of PV projects; he also worked with Ercam on the development of three PV plants with a total installed capacity of 475 MW located in Madrid and Castilla-La Mancha, and advised Elawan Energy on the development of two 500 MW PV installations in connection with a grid access dispute at a substation in Madrid.

Ramón Palacín, managing partner of EY Abogados, emphasised in a statement to El Confidencial, that the incorporation of Dorronsoro “allows us to position ourselves even better in a very competitive sector with a lot of activity, which is essential for us to be able to continue offering first class advice to our clients.” The new partner of EY Abogados, for his part, highlighted the pride of joining a team such as the Big Four, “a firm with a clear upward trajectory for years and which, due to its philosophy and values, represents a great opportunity both professionally and personally.”

Pablo was one of the selected Top 100 Energy Dealmakers recently published by Legal Dealmaker.
