Pérez-Llorca recruits Finance partner from Ashurst

Pérez-Llorca has appointed Josefina García Pedroviejo as a new partner in the Finance practice area to lead and oversee the Financial Services practice, joining from Ashurst

Josefina García has a degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in International Law from the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles. She has 15 years of professional experience in leading national and international law firms.

Josefina García Pedroviejo specialises in the Financial Services and Fund Formation practices. She has extensive experience in financial regulation and investment funds, advising banks, investment services companies, management companies and all types of national and international financial institutions on financial services authorisation and passporting procedures, investment product creation and marketing, MiFID II, ESG investing, market structure, and matters related to compliance and money laundering.

She is listed in numerous legal directories such as Chambers & Partners under ‘Banking & Finance: Financial Services Regulation’ and has been recognised as a Rising Star in Legal 500, while also being considered one of the most prominent lawyers in the area of ‘Investment Funds’ by Best Lawyers.

Josefina will lead and oversee the Financial Services practice and joins the firm’s Finance team, which is made up of four partners specialised in different areas related to financial law.

Josefina started her career at Barclays Bank and joined Uría Menéndez in 2007 as a senior associate. She spent more than ten years at the firm, and was hired by Ashurst in 2018 to lead the Asset Management and Investment Funds practice at the firm´s Madrid Office as a counsel.
