Pérez-Llorca hires IP&IT partner from Clifford, promotes four partners and a counsel

Rais Amils joins Pérez-Llorca as an Intellectual Property, Industrial and Technology partner in the Barcelona office. Andy Ramos, Cosme Colmenero and Nasif Hamed are promoted as new partners of the firm and Adriana Martín as counsel

Rais Amils joins the firm as a new partner of the Intellectual Property and Competition department of Pérez-Llorca Barcelona office. She started her professional career at Clifford Chance in 2001 and worked there until now. She has been exposed to multi-jurisdictional disputes, mainly involving Patents, Trademarks, Antitrust, Unfair Competition and Termination of Distribution and Agency Agreements. She has also participated in Arbitration and Administrative proceedings.

She was awarded the “Extraordinary Graduation Award in Law” for the top-ranked student in her class by the Universitat Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona, where she obtained her Law degree and specialised in European Intellectual Property and Competition matters thanks to a Master’s degree in European Studies at the College of Europe.

She is a lecturer on Intellectual Property and Competition at the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economia (ISDE) and at the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB). She has published several articles on Intellectual Property and Competition matters in some Spanish journals. Her specialities are Intellectual Property Rights, Antitrust and Litigation.

Pérez-Llorca has also promoted three lawyers to partner: Andy Ramos, Cosme Colmenero and Nasif Hamed, and Adriana Martín to counsel.

Andy Ramos joined Pérez-Llorca as counsel in 2019, making partner in 2022. Prior to joining the firm, Andy worked 15 years at a boutique firm in Madrid, an Intellectual Property rights management agency and a film studio in Los Angeles (California). He holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property from Whittier Law School and from Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICADE. He is currently heading the IP/IT area at Pérez-Llorca. He specialises in Intellectual Property, Entertainment Law, Movies, Music, TV, Video Games, Publicity Rights, Internet and IT.

Cosme Colmenero joined Pérez-Llorca in 2020 as counsel in the Corporate practice from Linklaters, specifically in the Restructuring and Insolvency area, and becomes now a partner. Before this, Cosme worked at several international firms. In addition, he worked for one of the leading British banks as part of a secondment programme, where he was involved in Corporate Financing transactions subject to both Spanish and English law. Cosme has over 15 years of experience in Restructuring and Refinancing transactions, as well as Leveraged , Corporate and Project Finance. Cosme has taught in the Master’s Degree in Access to the Legal Profession at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid on Restructuring and pre-Insolvency Law. In addition, Cosme authored a chapter on Spanish Law in the book “Cross-border Security Over Receivables”, edited by Harry C. Sigman and Eva Maria Kieninger.

Nasif Hamed joined Pérez-Llorca in 2014 and also becomes a partner. Prior to this, he worked at a green consulting firm for two and a half years, and he gained work experience at Clifford Chance. He is a Law graduate from the Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio and holds a Master’s degree (LL.M.) in Business Law from Centro de Estudios Garrigues. He also studied International Business Law at Harvard Law School. Nasif specialises in Commercial Law and Transactional matters. His main practice covers advising private and listed companies from various industries on Mergers and Acquisitions, joint ventures, as well as Corporate Restructuring and cross-border transactions. Nasif has advised private equity funds and large national and international industrial firms on many transactions. Over the last few years, Nasif has advised on domestic and international transactions involving the investment and divestment of renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

Adriana Martín joined Pérez-Llorca in 2008 and has just been named counsel in 2022. In 2007, she did an internship at the Office of Public Prosecution at the Catalonian Supreme Court of Justice. In the summer of 2009, she completed a secondment to Vueling Airlines. Adriana is part of the Real Estate practice area at Pérez-Llorca. She has participated in various Real Estate deals, preparing different types of documents, and participating in Real Estate Due Diligence procedures for national transactions. She has also worked on business Restructuring transactions and Corporate Due Diligence proceedings. Adriana occasionally collaborates with the Litigation and Arbitration practice area.
