Único Hotels has exercised in advance its option to repurchase the building of its emblematic luxury hotel in Madrid’s Salamanca district Hotel Único.
The operation has been carried out within the framework of the financial terms agreed upon when the sale of the same asset was carried out in the first quarter of 2021.
The sellers have been a group of investors, who have gone hand in hand with AIGA (a company from A&G Group), while EY Abogados has acted as advisor to the buyer.
In this way, Único Hotels reaffirms its heritage vocation in the assets it operates in Madrid, Barcelona, Mallorca and Costa Brava. The firm currently has the Grand Hotel Central Barcelona, a five-star boutique hotel with 147 rooms with one of the most acclaimed infinity pools, and located in the historic centre of Barcelona; The Principal Madrid, the first luxury hotel on Madrid’s mythical Gran Vía, which houses the Ático restaurant, by Ramón Freixa; Mas de Torrent, on the Costa Brava, an 18th-century farmhouse converted into a modern luxury hotel with 39 suites; and Finca Serena, in Mallorca, a property surrounded by more than 40 hectares, with olive, lavender, lemon, orange and vineyard trees.
Pérez-Llorca advised the sellers with a Madrid office team formed by Corporate partners Javier Muñoz Méndez and Alejandro Osma, Tax partner José Azqueta, and lawyers Aurora Vázquez (Corporate) and Ignacio Pascual (Tax).
EY Abogados advised the buyer with a Barcelona office Corporate/M&A team comprising partners Simeón García Nieto and José Carnerero, along with lawyer Alejandra Pascual.
