Gonçalo Capela Godinho is expected to join the firm in Madrid in July.
With more than 20 years of experience, Godinho joins the firm to contribute to the international development of the firm and to boost relationships with clients and institutions outside Spain, specifically in the Portuguese-speaking markets, with a special focus on Portugal and Brazil.
With his experience in the Brazilian, Portuguese, British and US markets, Godinho joins Pérez-Llorca’s international project on which the firm has been working for several years and which materialised with its own offices abroad in 2015, when the firm opened its London and New York offices, continued in 2022 with Brussels and has been further consummated in 2023 with Singapore.
With this addition, Pérez-Llorca continues to advance its goal of incorporating foreign talent into the firm. Specialising in Mergers and Acquisitions in various sectors, particularly energy and infrastructure, his clients include multinational companies, US firms, funds and investment banks, among others. Until now, he was a partner at a well-known Brazilian firm and previously worked in the London and New York offices of a major US law firm. Godinho will combine his work in Pérez-Llorca’s international project with advising clients on commercial matters in the energy and infrastructure sectors, areas in which he has excelled in recent years, participating in some of the most important transactions in these sectors in Brazil.
“Gonçalo’s international and strategic vision will help us to continue to develop and grow beyond our borders as part of the Firm’s international vocation,” said Pedro Pérez-Llorca, managing partner of Pérez-Llorca.
“We believe that we are at the right time, both in terms of our size and our positioning, to continue to strengthen our international projection, and we believe that Gonçalo will help us to achieve this goal together with the partners responsible for the international strategy in all our offices”, says Iván Delgado, partner responsible for the international development of Pérez-Llorca.
In addition, as part of Pérez-Llorca’s international strategy, the firm will double the space in its London and New York offices.
In the case of London, following the success of the change of its headquarters from the City to Mayfair, a neighbourhood where most of the international funds with which the firm works regularly are located, Pérez-Llorca will double the square metres of its current space.
In New York, Pérez-Llorca is also doubling the surface area of its office located in the emblematic Seagram Building, designed by architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and located on Park Avenue, where it has been operating since its opening in 2015. wo floors of the building located at 17 Hill Street.
