Luna’s most recent positions have been as Director of Corporate Legal Counsel, member of the Executive Committee and of the Management Committee of Abengoa and lately, partner of ONTIER.
The incorporation of a General Counsel with broad management powers is common in large international firms, although more novel in the Spanish market. With this step, Pérez-Llorca intends to deepen the institutionalisation and formation of a professionalised management team, which began years ago with the appointments of partner Constanza Vergara as Corporate Director, María Luisa de Landecho as CFO and Rafael Madero as CIO, as well as the growth of professional departments of HR, Communication, Marketing and Business Development, CSR, Knowledge Management, Finance, Information Technology and Innovation, among others.
This management model is aimed at allowing the firm’s partners and lawyers to concentrate on the development of their practices and attention to the legal matters entrusted to them by clients while maximising efficiency, innovation and professionalism in internal management issues.
José Luis Luna has more than 20 years of work experience acquired in both law firms and multinationals, which gives him a complete vision of his work. He holds a Law degree from the Universidad de Sevilla, a Master’s degree in Corporate Legal Consultancy from IE Law School, as well as a Postgraduate degree in European Politics and Community Law from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques of the Robert Schuman University in Strasbourg and studies at Georgetown University in Washington.
