According to information published on Expansión, since 1 January, Miguel Lorán and Jordi Casas are the new co-managing partners of Osborne Clarke in Spain. They take over from Núria Martín, who has been managing partner for the last seven years, and who will now devote herself entirely to her work for clients in the Corporate and Capital Markets area.
Lorán, who joined Osborne Clarke in 2014 from Freshfields, specialises in Tax Law and is also the chairman of the firm’s International Council, the firm’s international supervisory body. As partner and head of the firm’s Tax department, his work for clients focuses on advising on international transactions and tax planning for multinational groups.
Casas, who joined the firm in 2016 from RocaJunyent, is a partner specialised in Corporate Law and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A). For several years he has been a member of the firm’s International Board, the body that sets the firm’s international strategy. He has more than 25 years’ experience in M&A transactions for national and international clients in various sectors, especially in the technology and health sciences sectors.
Among the main objectives of the new co-heads of Osborne Clarke are their intention to maintain the Spanish office among the top five in Spain in terms of turnover per lawyer and profit per partner, to focus on innovation and to retain the firm’s talent.
The appointment, as explained by the firm to Expansión, takes place within the ordinary framework of the renewal of management bodies and the participation of partners in the management of the firm.
