Raquel Muñoz holds more than 17 years´ experience as general counsel for different multinationals in the fields of renewable energy and is a Corporate Social Responsability expert. She joins from Uriel Inversiones and Uriel renovables, where she was general counsel since 2017.
She started her career at Ramón y Cajal Abogados (then Alonso Ureba, Bauzá y Asociados ) as an associate lawyer working on Regulatory and Supervisory Compliance, Banking Law, Financial Services and Company Law. She jumped to the in-house world in 2007 as a general counsel EMEA at Nexxar Group and later at Iberpay. Raquel transitioned in 2009 to the world of photovoltaic parks development, construction –turnkey EPC-, maintenance, financing –project finance and leasing-, and asset management as head of Legal of 9REN Group, and after she became senior legal counsel for Europe, EMEA & Latam of Sunedison Spain and head of the Legal department for Spain, Compliance officer and Corporate Social Responsibility head for EMEA & Latam.
Now she joins Nexwell Power, from US group Nexwell. Nexwell is a purpose-driven investment group focused on scaling long-term sustainable and impactful initiatives that measurably decarbonize the planet. Nexwell Power, part of Nexwell group, is a solar IPP that focuses its human and financial capital on delivering long-term and sustainable solar PV assets.
Raquel holds a double degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICAI-ICADE) and several advanced programmes on Corporate Social Responsibility (ESADE, IE Business School, Harvard Business School). She has also taught Private Law at Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICADE Law School.
