Tikehau Capital, the global alternative asset manager, has announced the acquisition together with the management team, of 100% of the share capital of Isotrol, a leading developer of proprietary software solutions for the renewable energy sector in Spain.
Founded in 1984 in Seville, Isotrol is a pioneer in the development of technological solutions for the renewable energy sector. Throughout its almost 40 years of experience, Isotrol is a benchmark in the digitisation and transition of the energy mix towards renewable energies. The company has developed solutions that enable real-time improvement of the productivity and efficiency of generation assets. Today, Isotrol’s solutions operate more than 2,100 renewable generation plants globally and monitor close to +130 GW in more than 45 countries for large utilities.
The business currently employs more than 400 professionals across offices in Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Brazil, Mexico and Chile. The international presence has grown significantly in the last 10 years under the leadership of Beltrán Calvo and the founding family, who have led Isotrol to its current leading position worldwide. In this new phase, Tikehau Capital will work closely with Manuel Losada, CEO, and his management team, providing operational and strategic support to accelerate and consolidate Isotrol’s organic and inorganic growth.
The acquisition of Tikehau Capital is part of the Group’s energy transition strategy. With over €1 billion in assets under management, the strategy aims to develop, transform and internationally expand mid-sized companies focused on clean energy generation, low-carbon mobility and energy efficiency.
Montero Aramburu advised on the sale with a team coordinated by managing partner Leonardo Neri Fernández, and integrated by Luis Cánovas Santos and Pilar Marín García, from the Tax area, and by Juan Manuel Martínez Carpio, Raquel Mascort Arqués and Pedro Caballero Olea, from the Commercial Law area.
