Javier, who joined Andersen last year, started his career as a junior lawyer in the Real Estate and Town Planning Law department of Rousaud Costas Duran (RCD) Madrid office. Later, he worked for more than six years at Dutilh Abogados (act DA Lawyers).
During this time he specialised in the study of the legal regime of any type of land and/or building, as well as in preparation of real estate/urban Due Diligence reports. He advised on the processing and obtaining of urban planning licenses (operation, activity, etc.), and controlled and monitored administrative processes of land transformation. He also managed the registry/cadastre regularisation of properties/developments, the management, sale, and leasing of subsidised housing (VPO award contracts, etc), acquiring experience in comprehensive management and real estate legal advice on residential housing portfolios (lease contracts, mediation between parties and resolution of legal disputes, etc.) as well as in Litigation practice in Real Estate matters (Evictions/Housing repossession), contracts in the field of urban leases (Leases for housing and other uses).
Javier Cortés is a Law graduate (with honours) from Universidad de Nebrija and holds a Master’s degree in Territorial and Urban Planning Policy from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He also holds several studies from CEF (Centro de Estudios Financieros).
Montepino Logística, managed by the company Valfondo Gestión, has become, after almost two decades, one of the largest owners of logistics real estate in Spain, promoting national and international solutions for the main logistics service providers operating in Spain, as well as for some of the leading companies in the tertiary and industrial sector.
