As an expert in advising senior executives, start-ups, companies and multinationals, the lawyer is taking the reins of “something she had always dreamed of”, which is to embark on her own path to offer the market service with the highest quality standards.
“Having spent so many years working as a Labour relations director in a multinational has allowed me to evolve my perspective as a lawyer. Not all in-house lawyers have had the opportunity to live the experience of being on the other side and that is an added value that we bring,” said Royo.
María Royo began her professional career at Uría Menéndez in 2009, until 2013, when she started working as an in-house lawyer in large multinational companies such as P&G and Globalvia. In January 2016, at the age of 29, she was appointed director of Labour Relations at Gestamp Renewable Industries, a leading multinational in the steel sector. She was later a partner at Ayuela Jiménez Abogados and co-founder of Ebiroy Abogados. In addition to teaching Labour Law, she is the coordinator of the Club de Jóvenes de la Asociación Nacional de Laboralistas (ASNALA).
Regarding her strategic objectives for the firm at the end of 2022, María said that she intends to end the year consolidating “as a benchmark Labour law firm” and expand the team they already have “in order to be able to provide a better service to our clients.” The lawyer and businesswoman, a member of associations such as Women in a Legal World, wanted the announcement to coincide with yesterday’s celebration of 8 March.
