Alejandro Halffter, secretary-general of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, expressed his support for the celebration of this fair and his eagerness to “serve as a meeting point for companies, services and legal professionals from all fields.”
“Our organisation has been working in recent years with various law firms and professional associations with initiatives that give visibility to legal services companies so that they have recurrent preventive advice because it is the best way to avoid future problems. Adequate training fosters client confidence and recruitment,” concluded Halffter.
After thanking the welcome received by the “home of entrepreneurs”, Pedro J. Carrillo, CEO of Grupo Metalia and organiser of Spain Legal Expo 2022, stated that “there would be no legal advice if there were no companies and clients. That is why it is fundamentally fair, and it was not logical for it not to exist. Companies are eager to say, ‘here we are, we have overcome and grown in this tough 2020 and 2021, and we want to do business’ and, undoubtedly, fairs are the best space for this by generating networking. In addition, we will reinforce the business presence, because within the fair there will be the boostpyme 2022 show, a space dedicated to other professional services.”
During the presentations, José María Alonso, dean of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM) showed his support to the organisers and expressed his absolute conviction that the legal profession makes “a vital contribution to Madrid’s GDP”, in addition to the fact that lawyers “are being a fundamental driving force in overcoming the economic crisis due to the pandemic.”
For her part, Victoria Ortega, president of the General Council of Spanish Lawyers (CGAE), emphasised the decisive role currently played by the Justice and Economy binomial and the suitability of holding the fair in the current context, in which “the legal profession has an important role to play. It s strategic that we have a regulatory system and a justice system that works because it will also be a way of providing security for foreign investment, which is demanding it in order to generate employment.”
Yolanda Ibarrola, vice-minister of Justice of the Community of Madrid, expressed the full support of the regional administration for a fair that is “necessary” and “will undoubtedly be a success.”.
