LOIS grows its turnover by more than 50%

LOIS, a leading consultancy firm in Legal Operations in Spain, grows more than 50% in turnover

-

The consultancy firm’s growth reflects the growing interest and need of legal departments to optimise the delivery of value and incorporate technology to be more efficient.

In 2020 the partners of Tama Projects and AlterWork founded LOIS (Legal Operations Institute Studies), a consultancy specialising in the study and transformation of the legal operations of corporate law firms.

LOIS has doubled its turnover and is working for corporate legal departments of large companies advising on in-house legal careers, KPIs, technology, and processes, but also for law firms that need to adapt to the requirements of their clients.

The movement of legal operations is unstoppable and legal departments must align and define their strategy to add value to the company’s competitiveness and, as a consequence. Also, law firms must provide not only excellent technical but also operational service.

LOIS is a boutique consultancy that brings together professionals and senior partners who know the legal sector from a business perspective. According to LOIS partner Eugenia Navarro: “With this integration, we have fulfilled three strategic objectives: to scale our resources, to increase the capacity for strategic advice, and to satisfy the demand of two groups of clients, law firms and legal consultancies, with differentiated needs.”

The services to legal departments range from the redesign of their structure and the definition of indicator tables to the diagnosis of legal operations through our own technological applications, the improvement of supplier contracting processes, and the definition of activity indicators and reports.

Eva Bruch, partner at LOIS, adds: “Legal operations are the fastest growing profession in corporate legal departments, and LOIS is sensitive to this demand”. Jordi Estalella, another founding partner of LOIS, comments: “Legal transactions are currently a competitive advantage for law firms and corporate legal departments.”

LOIS has a team of eight people, and its clients include numerous law firms ranked in the Top 50 by turnover in Spain and legal consultancies of IBEX companies, as well as several multinationals of both Spanish and Latin American origin.

As part of LOIS’s mission, it publishes annual reports and studies that help the evolution of the legal sector and the generation of benchmarking data for the generation of best practice standards in the market.
