Latham & Watkins has announced the promotion of 23 counsel that have been elected to the partnership, effective March 1.
José María Alonso is a member of the firm´s Environment, Land & Resources practice and Litigation & Trial pepartment in Madrid. He advises clients on Spanish Regulatory aspects of complex Corporate transactions, particularly in the financial, energy, and infrastructure industries.
José María is a former Spanish State Attorney, and earned his LLB in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia Comillas.

José María´s latest experiemce includes advising SATS on the acquisition of Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), a France-based provider of air cargo logistics, ground handling, and technical services, representing Repsol on the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Asterion Energies and its subsidiaries located in Spain, France, and Italy, on the sale of a 49% stake in the Valdesolar photovoltaic project to The Renewables Infrastructure Group, and on the sale of a 49% stake in its Delta wind farm portfolio to Pontegadea. He also advised TA Associates on the acquisition of the esPublico group, a Spanish group of companies engaged in the development of legal and economic content platforms, and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) and KKR of its acquisition of a majority stake in Vantage Towers, a Germany-based mobile telecommunications tower infrastructure operator, in a joint venture with Vodafone, among others.
