King & Wood Mallesons has advised private equity firm Suma Capital on the acquisition of a 90% stake in Zamora Eco Energías, a subsidiary of Spain’s DH Eco Energías.
The Zamora Eco Energías project, which will involve an investment of around €25 million, will drive a renewable heat network in Zamora through biomass boilers, transporting hot water for heating and sanitary water. With a capacity of 20 MW, the network will supply heat to 6,400 households, public and private non-residential buildings.
Suma Capital has carried out this transaction through its SC Climate Impact III fund, a €300 million investment vehicle specialising in sustainability and positive environmental impact investments in companies that promote energy transition and the circular economy in Europe.
KWM’s team of lawyers involved in this project has been led by Corporate partner Germán Cabrera, who has been assisted by senior associate Gonzalo Fernández, and associates Rosa Chen and Natalia Rodríguez.
