KWM advises Portobello on the closing of €250m minority structured fund

King & Wood Mallesons has advised private equity firm Portobello Capital on the closing of its first minority fund, Portobello Structured Partnerships Fund I, which has reached investment commitments of €250 million

The vehicle’s strategy is to take minority stakes in between seven and nine companies in the mid-market segment, mainly in Spain and the rest of Europe. It is the first fund in this category to be set up in Spain and has a broad investor base comprising pension funds, funds of funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, banks, family offices, and private investors.

The KWM team of lawyers involved in this project has been led by partner and head of the funds department Isabel Rodríguez, with the collaboration of associates Arie Scharf and María de Orueta.
