Juris Magister adds E1-E2 visas head for Portugal

Juris Magister Abogados, a firm highly specialised in providing legal and tax advice to entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals interested in setting up and expanding their businesses in the United States, has incorporated Lilian Nascimento da Silva as its head of E1 and E2 visas in Portugal

“Lilian Nascimento da Silva, a lawyer who has been trained in this legal area in Spain for months, will be in charge of our representation for E1 and E2 visas in Portugal,” announced Luis Agramunt, founder and managing partner of Juris Magister Abogados.

Lilian will be in charge of this service after the United States Congress approved on 15 December 2022 -ratified by President Biden on 23 December 2022- “AMIGOS ACT”, the regulation that allows Portuguese Citizens to obtain E1 Trade and Services Visas and E2 Investment Visas for the United States.

“Until now, Portugal was the only country in the Euro Zone that did not have this treaty with the United States, which allows its citizens to obtain the best visa granted by the United States. The inclusion of Portugal in the list of countries with this Treaty also favours obtaining E1 Visas and E2 Visas for Spanish Citizens,” Agramunt explained.

“This is a big step for Spanish companies and Spanish professionals, who will be able to benefit directly and indirectly from this: For the numerous Portuguese-Spanish ‘Joint Ventures’, it will facilitate the transfer of personnel, executives, managers, coordinators, supervisors, and specialists to subsidiaries in the United States of both Spanish and Portuguese citizens. Also,    Spanish Citizens will be able to apply for E1 and E2 Visas at the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Lisbon,” added Agramunt.

Lilian Nascimento da Silva is a Law graduate from the Faculty of Higher Education of Paraiba, Brazil with a postgraduate degree in Labour Law and Social Security from the International Faculty of Paraiba in 2016. She has been a member of the Brazilian Bar Association of Joao Pessoa since 2017 and of the Portuguese Bar Association of Lisbon since 2022.

Lilian Nascimento da Silva has five years of previous experience in International Law with specialisation in Immigration Law in Brazil, and after her training in E1/E2 Visas for the United States at Juris Magister Abogados, she will join the “American Legal Desk” from where she will cover the needs of this Legal Alliance in relation to E1/E2 Visas for Companies and Professionals, especially in Portugal and Brazil.
