Jones Day guides AMIR on its expansion to Brazil

Jones Day has advised Spanish education group Academia AMIR on its acquisition 100% of the shares of Brazil´s Revalidando Educação and Grupo Educando

These companies are key players in the Brazilian market in the preparation courses for the national medical diploma revalidation exam (Revalida).

Founded in 2006, Madrid-based Academia AMIR offers high-standard health education, created specifically to prepare doctors for medical residency through on-site and distance learning courses. The AMIR Group operates in several countries, including Latin America (El Salvador, Colombia, Chile, Dominican Republic, Bolovia, Costa Rica, Mexico) but Academia AMIR had no operations in Brazil before this deal.

Jones Day advised Academia AMIR with a team formed by partner and head of the Spain/Latin America region Luis Riesgo, and Sao Paulo of counsel Artur Badra. The company was also advised by Souto Correa law firm in Brazil.
