Javier Cepeda holds more than 15 years of experience as an in-house lawyer in the energy sector. He joined Naturgy (then Gas Natural) in 2007 as Legal Projects head, and in 2010 he was named deputy director of the Gas Natural Fenosa Wholesale Market Legal department, becoming head of legal of the company in 2015.
In 2021 he joined Iberdrola to head its Renewables Global Legal department, from where he now joins Iberdrola Energía Internacional as Legal director.
Before joining Gas Natural, he worked for the Public Administration as a special attorney for the Community of Madrid, where he was Deputy Director General of the Legal Services of the Community of Madrid (2004-2007), Technical Secretary General of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (2003 -2004), Director of the Technical Office of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour (2002-2003), Advisor to the Technical Secretary General of the Ministry of the Environment (2002), and Legal Advisor to the Legal Service of the Presidency of the Community of Madrid (2000-2001). He is now on leave of absence.
