International Bar Association (IBA) has announced the appointment of Soledad Atienza Becerril as the new co-chail of its Future Legal Services Commission for 2022-2023. The aim of the Future of Legal Services Commission is to analyze and report on the state of the legal profession, specifically looking at changing client demands, new players in the legal industry, regulatory changes, education, and digitalization/technology.
Atienza is the IBA (International Bar Association) Academic and Professional Development Committee senior advisor, and was named dean of IE Law School in 2020.
The dean of IE Law School holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from IE University and is a Law professor. Her areas of expertise include Comparative Law and Law teaching methods. She holds an Executive MBA from IE Business School; a certificate in European Studies from the Europa Institute of the Saarland University in Germany. She is a Law graduate from Universidad CEU San Pablo and was a visiting student at Cornell University in New York. She is the author of the book “Teaching Law: Can the US experience be useful?” published by the Pérez-Llorca/IE Chair, which she co-directs, as part of the IE Law School Aranzadi Collection. She worked at Pérez-Llorca for five years.
