Hyperloop appoints general counsel from NH

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies has appointed Carlos Ulecia Palacios, until now general counsel, secretary-general and secretary of the Board of NH Hotel Group as its general counsel

Carlos Ulecia is since 2013, general sounsel, secretary-general and secretary of the Board of NH Hotels Group. Prior to his current position at NH Hotel Group, Carlos Ulecia was a senior associate at Landwell, a firm associated with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and in 2000, he was appointed head of the Legal department of Indra Sistemas. From this position, he assumed responsibility for the privatisation of the technology multinational, its flotation on the stock exchange and also contributed to its international contributed to its internationalisation process.

In 2007, he joined Prisa (Promotora de Informaciones) as deputy secretary-general and deputy secretary of the Board of Directors. In this position he led, from the legal function, the Group’s divestment processes, the refinancing and restructuring of its debt, and the restructuring of its debt, as well as the coordination of the Board of Directors and its Committees, among others.

In 2013, Carlos Ulecia joined NH Hotel Group as secratery-general, and secretary of the Board of Directors and Legal advisor of Sotogrande, a position he left in 2015 after its sale to the Cerberus and Orion funds. As General Secretary of NH Hotel Group and a member of the Management Committee, Ulecia leads at global level the areas of Legal advice, Compliance and internal audit, as well as the management of the Board of Directors and its Committees.

Carlos Ulecia is a visiting professor at IE Business School on Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Governance. He holds a PhD in Law and a degree in Business Administration from Universidad de Zaragoza, as well as a Master´s degree in Tax & Legal advice to companies from IE Business School.

Carlos will maintain his position at NH while managing the Legal matters of the Los Angeles-based company.
