Juan María Zuza, managing partner of Zuza Abogados founded the law firm in 1972, was awarded in 2015 the Medal for Merit in Service to the Legal Profession by the General Council of Spanish Lawyers, and in 2016 the Ministry of Justice awarded him the 2nd Class Distinguished Cross of San Raimundo de Peñafort.
