Garrigues announces two new partners

Garrigues has strengthened its team with the addition of two renowned professionals as partners. Mireia del Pozo will be a partner in the Administrative and Constitutional Law practice in Barcelona and Mónica Bolaños will join the Tax practice in Bogotá

-

Both appointments, which will be submitted for approval at a forthcoming partners’ meeting, are part of the firm’s strategy to consolidate its leadership in corporate advice from all angles of Business Law.

Mireia del Pozo, who holds a Law degree from Pompeu Fabra University and a professional Master’s degree in Territorial and Urban Studies from the Public Administration School of the Generalitat de Cataluña, returns to Garrigues – where she began her career and spent a large part of her time (from 1999 to 2018) in the Administrative Law department in the Barcelona office – after a period co-managing her own legal boutique in Urban Law. She has more than twenty years of experience in the area of Public Law and specialises in the urban planning and real estate sectors. She is a regular lecturer in numerous Master’s and postgraduate programmes in urban planning law, as well as a highly regarded professional in the public and private sector.

Mónica Bolaños has more than seventeen years of experience advising local and international companies in Colombia on Corporate Tax, investment structures, financing, and mergers and acquisitions. She holds a degree in Public Accounting and a Master’s in Economics from the National University of Colombia, as well as a Master of Advanced Studies in International Tax Law from the University of Leiden (The Netherlands) and specialises in international taxation and M&A in Colombia and the Andean region. She is currently a member of the Colombian chapter of the Executive Committee of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and holds the position of President of the Technical, Accounting, and Economic Academic Commission of the Colombian Institute of Tax Law. Her appointment strengthens the capacity of Garrigues’ Tax Department, which is a benchmark in the various countries in which it operates, to offer the global advice that companies are increasingly demanding.
