GA_P helps Komon with the closing of €1.8m financing round

Komon, a platform where artists of all kinds can launch an accessible online community through the purchase of NFTs, closes a $2 million (€1.86 million) pre-seed funding round, assisted by Gómez-Acebo & Pombo

Investors include venture capital funds Samaipata, Adara Ventures, Inveready, and Shilling. They have also had several business angels with extensive experience in the world of Web3 and the management of content creators and artists.

Based in Madrid, the company is led by Sebastián Fernández-Medrano, who spent seven years in venture capital as a former director of Samaipata, a VC that invests in digital platforms, and computer scientist Manuel Bevilacqua, who worked at Capchase and Returnly. Both founders share a passion for art. Fernández-Medrano is a trained actor and Bevilacqua is a former professional violinist.

“Most of our friends and loved ones are artists and we have experienced first-hand how difficult it is to make a living from their work. That’s why we’ve always wanted to launch a company at the intersection of creativity and technology,” the founders stated.

With this investment,it intends to expand and use the money to hire the team in Europe and the United States. In addition to the development of the platform. It currently has more than 100 successful artists ready to launch their communities through the platform.

Gómez-Acebo & Pombo’s team was led by partner Álvaro Mateo, along with lawyer Patricia Pérez.
