GA_P expands Dispute Resolution with double partner hire

Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has hired ex-Repsol Almudena Larrañaga and Luis García del Río as new partners in the firm´s Litigation and Arbitration department, both joining from DLR Abogados

Luis García del Río is State Attorney number one in his class, having served in the State Attorney’s Offices in Cáceres, Huelva and Madrid. During his career in the public sphere, among other functions, he was appointed advisor to the Cabinet of the Minister of the Environment. On voluntary leave of absence since 1 February 2001 and in the private sector, he was director of Legal Affairs at Repsol Butano, director of the Repsol Group’s Upstream and LNG Legal Services, and in 2008, together with Almudena Larrañaga, he set up the firm García del Río & Larrañaga. Luis has been an independent director of YPF and ENAGAS.

Almudena Larrañaga, who began her professional career in various international firms, worked for ten years in Repsol’s Legal Services, first in Repsol Butano as head of litigation matters and later as head of Europe and North Africa in the Group’s Upstream and LNG Legal Affairs Department.

These incorporations are part of the firm´s inorganic growth plan and the objectives we have set for 2023. With them, the firm intends to support the growth of an area that is key to the firm’s project, especially in the area of advising listed groups and in matters with an international element (mainly in LatAm and North Africa).
