Spain´s renewables investor Qualitas Energy, a global investment and management platform focused on renewable energy, energy transition and sustainability investments, has acquired a portfolio of photovoltaic assets in the municipality of Crevillent, in the province of Alicante.
Specifically, the transaction was structured through the acquisition, from private shareholders, of the companies that own the assets: Crevillum, Atlas Inv 2006, Geinspa 2000, and Selga Energía.
Qualitas Energy announced in November 2022 that its fifth flagship fund hit its first close (advised by KWM) at €1.1 billion (USD 1.13bn) to raise money for the energy transition projects in several countries in Europe. The target size of the new fund QE V is EUR 1.6 billion. Q-Energy was rebranded to Qualitas Energy, focusing on its original identity and its traditional three core pillars: experience, team, and sustainability.
Gómez-Acebo & Pombo advised Qualitas Energy on this acquisition with a Corporate team led by partner Pablo Fernández Cortijo, together with lawyers Claudia Barreiro Lafuente and Carla Sancho-Tello Safont.
