José Luis García joins Ferrovial from Cuatrecasas Barcelona office, where he has worked in the firm´s Public Law department since 2013, from where he advised Spanish companies and foreign investors on their relations with the Public Sector, and worked on legal defence in Administrative and Contentious-Administrative proceedings. He regularly participates in Real Estate and M&A transactions (Due Diligence, Contract negotiation), particularly in the residential, tourism and commercial sectors.
He is a specialist in Public Business Law (Administrative and Regulatory), including authorisations and licences, inspections and sanctions, subsidies, public assets and concessions, contracts with the Public Sector, environment, asset liability and expropriations.
He now joins the Energy Infrastructure and Mobility division of Ferrovial, headed by Elena Fernández, who recently was appointed head of Legal as reported by Legal Dealmaker on February 9.
He has been part of the Legal Service of the European Central Bank (Financial Law Division) and was a Bluebook stagiaire at the European Commission.
José Luis is a Law graduate from Universidad de Valladolid (with extraordinary award) and lectures Administrative Law at the Universitat Abat Oliba – CEU and in the Master’s Degree in Law at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. Previously, he was an Administrative Law associate professor at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a pre-doctoral researcher in the Department of Public Law at the Universitat Abat Oliba – CEU.
This one is the second hiring of Ferrovial from Cuatrecasas in 2022, after the one of Teresa Salas, as reported by Legal Dealmaker on January 28.
