Ferrovial appoints new head of Legal

Ferrovial Energy Infrastructure and Mobility has appointed Elena Fernández Rodríguez new head of Legal, joining from Ferrovial Services North America

Elena Fernández was until now leading the Legal & Insurance department of Ferrovial Services in US & Canada; as well as supervising the Legal departments of Ferrovial Services in other countries, with increased scope of responsibilities and support to business in new industries.

She has been linked to the Spanish infrastructure giant from the beginning of her career, holding several positions as general counsel and Legal director in different countries in Americas and some European countries, where she played a key role in several acquisitions and divestments. She started as International division in-house lawyer for Ferrovial Inmobiliaria. She the jumped for three years to Swissport International, where she was general counsel and executive vice-president.

In 2009, she joined Ferrovial Servicios as head of Legal of its International division, with presence in several countries such as Poland, Portugal, Chile, Qatar; as well as supervision of legal departments in UK, US and Australia, and in 2017 she was appointed general counsel and executive vice-president of Ferrovial Services North America, with its headquarters based in Austin (Texas) and presence in several states in US and Canada, in both the Oil & Gas business and Infrastructure maintenance business.

Elena is an expert in M&A, Commercial, Corporate, Bidding, Real Estate, PFÍs and Financing.

She is a Law graduate from CEU San Pablo in Madrid, and holds an MBA from IE Business School and postgraduate studies from ESADE.

Her new post comes along with the appointment of Alejandro Veramendi as the new head of Ferrovial´s Financing department.
