FC Barcelona hires new Compliance officer

FC Barcelona has hired Sergi Atienza as its new Compliance officer, replacing Xavier Mas

Sergi Atienza will take over from Xavier Mas, who has held the position since June 2021. He will be the fourth executive to hold the position in the last two years.

Today Barça confirmed the departure of Xavier Mas and the arrival of Sergi Atienza as the new Compliance officer, the fourth in less than two years at the club: “We inform you that Xavier Mas, until now Compliance director, will leave the Club on 31 March. Xavi took over the leadership of Compliance, Data Protection, and Diversity, Equality and Inclusion at the Club in June 2021.”

Atienza is a Law graduate from the Universidad de Barcelona and has more than 19 years of experience in Compliance and Criminal Law. He has been the managing partner of his law firm, Atienza Advocats, since 2007.
