Simon is an associate partner in the Energy Law team at Ernst & Young LLP (EY UK). He advises international clients on the acquisition, development, financing and disposal of energy projects around the world. He has experience across the energy value chain — from wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) through green and blue hydrogen, to oil, gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG).
He has a particular interest in the development of hydrogen and decarbonisation technologies and CCS policy and strategy to enable low carbon hydrogen production and the resulting decarbonisation of power, heat and transport.
In the oil & gas sector he has advised on upstream production, storage and transportation arrangements, LNG, refining, and product sales and trading.
he has writtenn numerous published articles on legal issues in the energy sector and has appeared as a speaker at industry conferences and events.
Prior to joining EY UK, he was a Legal Director in the energy projects team at DLA Piper.
Simon has a BA in Geography from Durham University, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Law and Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from BPP Law School in London.
