Eversheds Sutherland has hired Elena Herrero-Visairas as counsel in the Compliance & ESG department. In this way, the firm promotes an area of extreme relevance and continuous growth and reaffirms its commitment to the highest quality advice on sustainability – ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance). Elena will work alongside the managing partner of the department, María Hernández, who is also responsible for the Compliance Committee of Eversheds Sutherland International’s Alliance of Latin American law firms.
Elena Herrero-Visairas, an expert in legal management and compliance in the renewable energy industry, has more than 20 years of national and international experience in leading law firms and companies. Until joining Eversheds Sutherland, Elena worked at Grupo T-Solar, which she joined in 2007 to head of Legal and Compliance officer. Her experience includes both project development at national level and internationalisation strategy, with the opening of markets in Italy, USA, Peru, Japan and India. Throughout his career, he has accumulated in-depth knowledge of the energy sector, international transport, and foreign trade. In recent years, she has reported directly to the US investment fund ISquared Capital (former shareholder of Grupo T-Solar).
She is a Law graduate and holds a Diploma in Business Studies from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE). She also holds a Master’s degree in Maritime Law and International Trade from the University of Southampton (UK) and has recently been certified in Corporate Governance by the Instituto de Consejeros y Administradores (IC-A).
She began her career as a lawyer at More Fisher Brown Solicitors (London) and Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group USA. After that, she joined the Maritime Department of Stephenson Harwood, then joined the Energy, Projects, and Infrastructure area of DLA Piper, and later joined Grupo T-Solar.
