Before joining the European Commission, Burón Pérez was working as a lawyer, lately, in the Finance, Insolvency, Energy, and Transport, and firstly in the Litigation and Arbitration areas at Uría Menéndez for two years. Previously, he gained experience at law firms as prestigious as Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP and Cuatrecasas.
On his appointment, Burón Pérez said: “Shortly after joining the European Commission, I realised it was the place where I could best fulfil my career aspirations. Eight thrilling months later, I am delighted to announce that I can finally call myself a member of its Legal Service. Many thanks to all the friends and colleagues -both current and former- that have shaped me into the lawyer I am today. Determination cannot bear fruit without the catalyst of inspiration.”
He is a Law and International Relations graduate from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICAI-ICADE and he holds a double Master’s degree in Access to the Legal Profession and in Business Law from the Universidad de Navarra, among other highlighted studies.
