Previously, he gained experience at law firms as prestigious as Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP and Cuatrecasas.

On his appointment, Burón Pérez said: “Shortly after joining the European Commission, I realised it was the place where I could best fulfil my career aspirations. Eight thrilling months later, I am delighted to announce that I can finally call myself a member of its Legal Service. Many thanks to all the friends and colleagues -both current and former- that have shaped me into the lawyer I am today. Determination cannot bear fruit without the catalyst of inspiration.”
