Javier has extensive experience providing pre-Litigation and Litigation advice in Civil and Commercial matters. He has conducted proceedings before Spanish courts and arbitral institutions such as the Madrid Court of Arbitration and has advised states in disputes brought before the World Trade Organization.
Javier has been involved in Litigation concerning the sale and purchase of companies, shareholders’ agreements, put and call options, directors’ liability, damages arising from antitrust infringements, and administrative contracts whose execution and performance are subject to private law. He has also worked on Civil and Criminal Litigation related to cybersecurity.
He has been involved in litigation related to a wide range of commercial transactions, such as franchising, agency, or distribution. In addition, he regularly advises financial institutions in litigation related to financial derivatives, structured notes, foreign currency-denominated loans, and other financial products.
For his part, Jesús has more than 15 years of experience advising national and international companies on contracts and litigation. He is an expert in contract management and the preparation of contractual claims.
Throughout his professional career, Jesús has worked both in international law firms and as in-house counsel for companies, acquiring extensive experience in projects around the world. He specialises in litigation and contract law, negotiations, dispute boards, commercial and investment arbitration, and corporate legal advice.
Jesús has extensive knowledge of the engineering and construction sector, being able to provide support in all phases of projects: from tendering and negotiation of contracts to the final settlement of the work.
He has extensive experience in conflict resolution, having assumed the legal management of litigation and arbitration in the main institutions (ICC, LCIA, Madrid Court of Arbitration). Jesús is a registered lawyer in Spain, New York, England, and Wales, as well as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), a qualification that recognises knowledge and skills in Arbitration.
