Elzaburu appoints new chairman

Alfonso Diez de Rivera Elzaburu has been appointed new chairman of Elzaburu. Mabel Klimt continues as managing partner of the firm, and former president, Ignacio Diez de Rivera Elzaburu, will continue as operations manager

Alfonso Diez de Rivera Elzaburu is the new president of Elzaburu. He is a lawyer and Industrial Property agent, and European Patent agent. He and his predecessor are brothers and descendants of the family that founded the firm more than 150 years ago. The changeover is part of a planned process of alternation of functions and aims to continue the path of growth and internal strengthening of the firm.

For the new president, the focus will be on offering the best solutions and services to build loyalty among current clients and attract new business: “I take on this responsibility with great enthusiasm and with the peace of mind of knowing that we have a great human capital that also has the excellence that we have been developing in our working methods and processes over the years.”

After a fruitful tenure, Ignacio Diez de Rivera relinquishes the presidency to focus on Operations Management and continue leading Elzaburu’s technological and digital transformation. This area has generated important projects such as ELZACLOUD and has optimised the digitalisation of the firm in the management of processes and files. “We have been technological pioneers and spearheads in the sector, and we have the challenge of continuing to innovate in order to adapt to the demands of the market quickly and efficiently.”

This change in the presidency is in line with the exciting revolution that the firm undertook two years ago. For the managing partner, Mabel Klimt: “We are following the roadmap we set out then, with the same enthusiasm and facing new challenges: to maintain the growth in clients and services sustainably and responsibly and to be the benchmark for clients and colleagues in legal advice on all types of intangibles.”

The company will continue to promote research in emerging areas, such as artificial intelligence, the metaverse and blockchain, and will continue to launch innovative projects that will be announced in the coming months.
