The firm will flag the building located at Calle Serrano 69, which has an area of more than 5,000 square meters, spread over seven floors.

ECIJA’s Board of Directors has approved at its last plenary meeting the transfer of its corporate headquarters, currently located in the Cuatro Torres district, to a unique building located at Calle Serrano 69 in Madrid, which will be fully occupied by the firm. The building, designed by architect Fernando Higueras, has a total surface area of 5,193 square metres. The building also has its own car park, gymnasium and restaurant area, an auditorium with capacity for 100 people and a large outdoor terrace.

ECIJA’s new headquarters are located on the Castellana – Serrano axis, next to the Commercial Registry of Madrid, the American Embassy and other business law firms such as Allen & Overy, Hogal Lovells or Pérez-Llorca. The space will cover the almost 250 professionals that make up ECIJA’s staff in Madrid -almost 1,000 globally- and will allow the Firm to continue its growth path and attract new talent.

This move responds to the growth experienced by the firm in recent years, which has forced it to triple the space in its current location in just five years and now requires a unique and singular headquarters in the heart of Madrid’s Golden Mile. What will be ECIJA’s new corporate headquarters from 1 January 2023 is owned by the Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros and until now has been the headquarters of Santander Asset Management, Santander Group’s investment fund manager.

“This new headquarters will enable us to continue to grow in line with the Firm’s needs. It will be the meeting point for our clients, professionals and ECIJA teams,, said Hugo Écija, chairman of the firm. “It will also allow us to consolidate ECIJA Academy, which will have a luxury auditorium in the heart of Madrid to lead internal and external education in digital economy law.”

The building, which will be fully occupied by ECIJA, is currently being fitted out to receive the firm’s team for the next academic year, where there will be large collaborative spaces for the work of the Firm’s professionals. The ECIJA professionals will play an active role in the design of the new workspaces, which must be flexible to adapt to the great diversity of clients and ways of working that exist in ECIJA. In the field of work dynamics management, ECIJA has a totally flexible model that adapts to the needs of the business, the team and the personal situation of each professional. “This agile way of working requires our workspaces to be flexible, adaptable and customisable, as each team and professional is managed according to their responsibilities and needs,” said Hugo Écija.
