Octopus Energy, a UK energy technology (entech) company, has announced the launch of Octopus Energy Spain with the aim of revolutionising the market and driving customer service excellence in energy retailing. Last year, Octopus Energy entered the Spanish market after acquiring Valencian energy company Umeme Energía. After months of preparation, the company starts its activity as Octopus Energy España.
The new headquarters in Valencia will serve as a launch pad for Octopus’ expansion throughout the country. Octopus Energy España will provide 100% renewable electricity among other services. It aims to reach one million customers in Spain by 2027, powered by its Kraken technology platform, helping to reach the company’s global goal of 100 million customers by 2027.
The British energy company is the fourth largest energy company in the UK with 3.2 million customers and a €4 billion portfolio of green energy assets across the continent.
