DLA Piper nabs Cases & Lacambra M&A partner

DLA Piper has appointed Pablo Echenique, who joins from Cases & Lacambra, as a partner in the Madrid Corporate and M&A practice led by José María Gil-Robles, and he will lead and mainly focus on the Energy and Infrastructure sectors

Pablo joins DLA Piper from Cases & Lacambra, which he joined in 2019 as a partner. Over his over twenty-year career, he has taken part in a significant number of corporate and finance transactions, with a focus on the energy, infrastructure and construction sectors, primarily across Europe, the US and Latin America.

Pablo worked for Abengoa, the international company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainability in the infrastructures, energy and water sectors, for seven years. He was a senior counsel in the Group’s General Secretariat and Head of the legal department of Abengoa Projects Warehouse. He has also worked at Alfanar Energy where he was head of its legal department.

Jesús Zapata, managing director for DLA Piper Spain, says: “We are delighted that Pablo is joining our Madrid office as part of the Corporate and M&A team. His extensive experience in energy and infrastructure will be an excellent addition to our growth strategy.

José María Gil-Robles, head of DLA Piper’s Corporate Practice in Spain, added: “Pablo joining us shall bring valuable energy and infrastructure experience into the team and will further add to an already highly qualified Corporate and M&A team in Spain.”
